Gilles Le Gorrec, founder, senior designer
Born in France, educated at the Ecole des Beaux Arts Architecture and the Ecole Speciale d’Architecture in Paris.
Worked for 15 years as an independent designer in Paris with projects in Lebanon, Morocco, Cuba and Monaco.
Professor at the Ecole Nationale d’Architecture for 4 years.
Participated in design juries in France and at the School of Visual Arts in New York City.
Worked for 20 years at Perkins Eastman Architects (New York City) leading the design effort as a senior designer and a principal on multiple projects and building types across the world.
Experience includes master planning, urban design, luxury hospitality, office, mixed use, retail, residential, adaptive re-use in places such as China, Korea, UAE, Qatar, Egypt, Jordan, Turkey, Algeria, Nigeria, India, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Croatia and Colombia as well as work in the USA, particularly in the New York area.
His recent work includes studies for sub-urban and rural environments in Connecticut, New York and New Jersey such as residential new, renovation and additions.
He is personally fascinated by renovation and creating new, creative spaces from old. He has transformed 18th and mid-century modern homes to fit today’s life. His latest and longer term project: in the process of renovating an historical stone bank barn, changing it tastefully and with utmost care to a dynamic event space.
